The Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania, in cooperation with the Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) and with the support of the European Commission, successfully organized the dedicated training day on the presentation of the CE Marking platform on December 12, 2024. The event, attended by over 30 participants, took place at the Tirana International Hotel, Abreti Room.
The training brought together representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and relevant institutions in Albania to explore the functionalities of the CE Marking platform and its role in streamlining the compliance process for businesses. Through a comprehensive program, participants gained valuable insights into the CE Marking process, including a detailed presentation of the platform, an overview of New Approach Directives and CE Marking requirements, and live demonstrations with practical examples to guide their understanding and application.
Who affixes the CE mark to the product?
The manufacturer independently affixes the CE marking to the product, but only after completing the conformity assessment procedure and afterward shall draw up a written EU declaration of conformity, which is the primary document that accompanies the CE-marked product in the single market.
Can a manufacturer outside the European Union affix the CE mark to a product?
To have the CE marking on a product, the manufacturer does not have to be located within the territory of the European Union, but it is necessary to carry out the appropriate procedure.
The CE Marking platform is an online application created to help manufacturers from WB6 economies to identify which European New Approach Directives are potentially applied on their products, using a set of questionnaires.
CE marking platform is a tool helping manufacturers to identify preliminary applied European New Approach Directives for its product, and to facilitate import and export to European Union and all WB6 markets.
The training was expertly led by Ms. Anila Jani, an expert in CE Marking and the Free Movement of Goods, with contributions from Mr. Ivan Pribićević, CEO of Simplify outsourcing d.o.o.
